The food, fiber, and forest industries play an important role in supporting both national, and regional economies across the United States.  Over the past several decades, researchers have utilized various tools and methods to measure the importance of these industries.  The introduction of input-output modeling software has made it easier for researchers to expand their studies to include, not only the direct economic effects of food, fiber, and forestry, but also allows them to determine the “ripple effects” that occur as money from these industries flows through the economy.

Our goal for this site is to maintain a comprehensive list of contribution and impact studies involving the food, fiber, and forest industries in the U.S. There are also several resources for researchers to reference when conducting contribution and/or impact studies. Keep an eye on the blog to be alerted of any new reports or news. Are we missing something? Let us know.
